If I'm going to be the only one to chat in this, here it goes. Ever since its been a while since I last edited on Wookieepedia, a lot of things have changed. I hear that wookieepedia has been adding pronouns to the info boxes and I find it to be a serious problem. When I last saw the fifth episode of Tales of the Empire "Realization", there was a very serious error that didn't make any sense to me. Disney’s new Star Wars series Tales of the Empire uses “they/them” pronouns to refer to a character, who is either "male" or "female".
In the scene in question, Barriss Offee engages in a lightsaber duel with this unnamed Jedi, who looks to be 100% a female Human. The scene makes no mention of gender identity or pronouns during the fight. But once the unnamed Jedi is wounded by the Fourth Sister, the two Inquisitors begin referring to the female Jedi using "they" and "them". I'm seriously confused as to why Barris said "they". I thought there were multiple Jedi off screen or something.
I find the use of they/them so confusing when used to identify one person, whether if its male, female, or non-binary. Here's the take, the word "they" is the definition of either two or more people or things previously mentioned or easily identified.
