The All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport or just the AT-ACT was a larger model of AT-AT walker used by the Galactic Empire. It was used to transport cargo and while they weren't built for combat, they still were armed and created a threat.
Description[]
The Armored Cargo Transport was larger than the Armored Transport of the same line. The walker had a cargo bed to transport heavy building materials as well as munitions. They were piloted by the specialized AT-ACT pilots.
History[]
The AT-ACT was deployed at major Imperial construction sites. Shipyards and larger research facilities often used these walkers to carry materials or munitions. They were used on the tropical beach planet Scarif as part of the Empire's construction projects. Several AT-ACTs engaged a group of Rebels in combat. The Rebels were attempting to break into a facility on the planet to capture plans to the Death Star battlestation.
After the Battle of Endor, the Imperial forces at Kuat Drive Yards pressed AT-ACTs into defending a vital transport monorail on its shipyard-ring that encompassed the planet Kuat. The AT-ACTs, along with AT-ATs, AT-STs, AT-TEs and different unfinished walkers, put up a fierce fight against New Republic starfighter attack runs during the Battle of Kuat Drive Yards.
