Arex was a Jedi Training Droid utilized by the Jedi Order since the time of the Old Republic to aid in protecting and training individual Jedi who took the Barash vow and retreated to the River Moon of Al'doleem. During the Clone Wars, Arex looked over and aiding in training Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a when he took the Barash vow and continued to aid the old Jedi Master up until his destruction at the hands of the Sith Lord Darth Vader in 19 BBY.

History[]

Arex had been known for protecting Jedi who took the Barash vow since the time of the Old Republic, being stationed on the remote River Moon of Al'doleem to train in isolation with any Jedi who arrived on the planet to uphold the Barash vow.

Sometime before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, or even the Separatist Crisis, Arex was assigned by the Jedi Order to look after Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a when he took the Barash vow. Arex would continue this mission, up until a few weeks after the execution of Order 66 and the start of the Jedi Purge. During this time, Arex and Infil'a were attacked by the newly appointed Sith Lord and former Jedi Knight, Darth Vader, who arrived on the River Moon of Al'doleem to kill Infil'a and take his lightsaber. Arex did his best to defend Infil'a from the Sith, but he was quickly torn apart by Vader, who took Arex's sword to duel Infil'a, as he did not have a lightsaber of his own.

Later, after Vader was defeated by Infil'a in a lightsaber duel, Arex's damaged body began to use what power it had left to mock Vader, claiming that the Dark Side of the Force will never truly gain power in the galaxy, and that there will always be Jedi or other Force users in the galaxy to stop people like the Sith. However, Arex's words would be in vain, as Vader, who was injured and missing a leg, quickly destroyed Arex completely, using The Force to crush what remained of his body. Then, in order to repair himself, Vader used parts from what remained of Arex's body to repair himself before going out to complete his mission and kill Infil'a.
