Finalizer, a Resurgent-class Battlecruiser
A Battlecruiser was a type of Star Destroyer that was larger than other models, yet smaller than the Super Star Destroyers.
History[]
The Galactic Empire used at least one battlecruiser, the Pride of Tarlandia, at the Battle of Endor. The ship sustained heavy damage during the battle and eventually did not respond to hails from other Imperial ships.
The First Order used a model of battlecruiser, the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, as command ships and heavy weapons platforms. When in task forces, the Resurgent-class ships led task forces consisting of smaller Star Destroyers like the Imperial-class, as well as heavy and light cruisers.
