Boba on Kamino

Boba on Kamino.

Boba Fett was created in the years before the Clone Wars, in which Boba was a non modified clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett created as part of the payment Dooku gave the Mandalorian in order for him to become the genetic template of the Republic's clone army, as ordered for creation by Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas.

Raised by Jango

For the next few years of his life, Boba would be raised by his clone father Jango on the water planet of Kamino up until the start of the Clone Wars. During this time, Jango also taught Boba most of his "ways" in fighting as a Bounty Hunter.

Encounter with Obi-Wan Kenobi

After being raised by Jango Fett on Kamino for several years during the Separatist Crisis, Boba would encounter the Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was sent by the Jedi Council to find Jango, as he had recently taken a job from the Separatist Leaders to try and assassinate the former Queen of Naboo, Senator Amidala. Boba would watch as Kenobi "interrogated" his father and would later help his father in escaping Kamino.

Skirmish with Kenobi

While attempting to escape Kamino, Boba and Jango would be attacked by Obi-Wan, who was now ordered by the Jedi Order to capture Jango and bring him in for questioning. Boba would get inside his father's ship, the Slave I, while Jango fought Kenobi in a skirmish between Jedi and Bounty Hunter. At the near end of this skirmish, Jango was about to be defeated, but Boba used the main cannons on the Slave I to blast Kenobi away from his wounded father. Later, Jango would knock the Jedi off the platform, believing him to be dead, Jango and Boba left, unaware that Kenobi survived and placed a tracking device on the Slave I.

Dogfight over Geonosis

Trying to get back to his Separatist employers, Jango took Boba to the secret Separatist controlled planet, Geonosis, where Jango would meet with Dooku and other members of the Separatist Council. However, little did Boba or his father know, that Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi and his astromech droid, R4-P17, arrived over Geonosis, still trying to arrest Jango and bring him to Coruscant to interrogate him. Not wanting to get captured, Jango would pilot the Slave I into the nearby astroid belt. This would result in a quick dogfight over the planet, ending when Kenobi, once again, faked his death. Believing Kenobi dead, again, Boba and his father would travel down to Geonosis.

Geonosis Arena

After escaping Kenobi, Boba would be present for the planned execution of Senator Amidala, Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker. While watching the execution take place alongside a few Separatist Leaders, Dooku, Poggle the Lesser, Nute Gunray, and Rune Haako, the arena would be attacked by an team of Jedi led by Jedi Master Mace Windu. Boba would then be sent away from the arena, but would still find a place to watch the skirmish between Jedi and Battle droids in the arena.

Watching his father's death

Boba mourns the death of his father, Jango, after he was killed by Mace Windu

In the midst of the firefight, Boba would watch as Mace would kill his father, Jango by decapitating the bounty hunter's head following the two fighting an Reek. Shortly after this, Grand Jedi Master, Yoda would arrive with the Clone Army and rescue the Jedi, only to start the Battle of Geonosis. With all Republic and Separatist forces gone from the arena, Boba would go to his father's body, picking up Jango's helmet and mourning his death.

Boba and his associates

During the Clone Wars, Boba teamed up with Aurra Sing, Castas, and Bossk. Fett and his bounty hunter allies devised a plan to assassinate Mace Windu as revenge for the death of Jango Fett. Boba boarded the Republic Cruiser, Endurance posing as a young clone cadet. He set a trap for Windu in his quarters however he lived. He made contact with Aurra Sing who instructed him to blow up the reactor core, which would kill everyone on the ship. At first, Boba was reluctant to go along with such a plan, but he ended up doing just that. Boba returned to his group of cadets who were evacuating the ship in an escape pod. Once the pod was away from the cruiser, Slave I arrived to retrieve Boba and left the rest of the cadets in the pod. They were soon rescued by Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker.

The Endurance crashed on the planet Vanqor. The bounty hunters which consisted of Boba, Aurra Sing, Bossk, and Castas set a trap for Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker. They placed Jango Fett's helmet in the bridge of the cruiser, which had been rigged to explode. After watching the explosion from a distance, the bounty hunters ventured to the wreckage to confirm their kill. However, it was more difficult than they had anticipated, due to the fact that R2-D2 was preventing them from getting to the injured Jedi. They assumed the ship was falling apart and the Jedi must have been killed. They decide to return to their ship with their hostages. Among them were Admiral Killian and Commander Ponds. They notice that Mace Windu's starfighter had taken off and pursue it into orbit. However, it is able to link with a hyperspace ring and escape the system.

Florrum

The hunters went to Florrum. However, Ahsoka Tano and Plo Koon tracked them down, and after a brief skirmish, captured Bossk and Boba.

While at the republic detention facility on Coruscant Boba encountered a disguised Obi-wan Kenobi who infiltrated the prison to thwart a plot to kidnap the Supreme Chancellor. During Kenobi's stay at the prison Fett and Bossk, who'd also been imprisoned, were paid to start a riot that allowed Kenobi and Cad Bane to escape with Moralo Eval. It is unclear whether Fett also took the opportunity to escape during the riot or at a later period however he was seen some time later working as a bounty hunter.

Quarzite

Boba Fett on Quarzite

Boba Fett took a job on Quarzite with five other bounty hunters in 20 BBY defending a chest containing a secret cargo, while it was brought to safety via a subtram.

The transport was attacked by many Kage warriors, determined to steal the cargo. All bounty hunters were successively ejected from the tram by the Kage, until Fett and Asajj Ventress were the only ones left. During the fight the chest opened up, revealing that the cargo was actually a Kage female that was destined to marry the Belugan dictator Otua Blank.

Boba Fett Tied Up

An angry Boba is left bound and gagged by Ventress on Quarzite.

He was knocked unconscious shortly afterwards, but Ventress arrived in time to prevent the Kages from escaping, and captured both the girl and her older brother, who had come to rescue her from the Belugans.

Eventually, Fett got in a dispute with Ventress about who would go to the Belugan king to get the bounty. Fett underestimated Ventress, threatening her, and she force choked him, attached him and replaced Pluma in the chest by Fett, who was delivered to the king instead.

Running a syndicate

Despite his embarrassment at Ventress' hands, Boba continued to run a successful syndicate of bounty hunters based out of both Coruscant and Tatooine. However, Ventress' history with the team continued to haunt the crew. In the waning years of the Clone Wars, Boba was approached by the Jedi Quinlan Vos while frequenting one of Coruscant's Level 1313 bars. Vos was interested in hunting down the former Sith for a planned assassination attempt on Count Dooku and wanted to partner with Ventress. Boba informed Vos that Ventress was on the planet Pantora.

Vos found Ventress and went with her ron several missions Ventress approached Boba once again at Chalmun's Cantina on Tatooine with the hopes of recruiting his syndicate to rescue her new partner turned lover. While initially cool, Fett and his fellow bounty hunters accepted Ventress' job after she offered to pay 250,000 credits in advance. Satisfied, Boba and his allies joined Ventress on her mission to rescue Vos. However, Dooku defeated Fett and his fellow bounty hunters with relative ease and Ventress's attempt to save Vos resulted in failure as well. Defeated but alive, Boba and his crew retreated from Serenno.

In the ensuing years, Boba gained a reputation as one of the deadliest bounty hunters in the galaxy. One of his known tactics was disintegrating his adversaries. He eventually got Slave I back and used it throughout his career.

Galactic Civil War

Criminal empire

Boba Fett watches as Jabba Desilijic Tiure confronts Han Solo at Docking Bay 94.

Boba Fett became a full-fledged bounty hunter by the time of the Galactic Civil War. His Mandalorian armor kept the idea of Mandalorian Warriors alive in the galaxy, even though many of them had been killed by the Galactic Empire. At some point before the Secret mission to Tatooine, Fett faced off against three rebel spies on Coruscant. While the spies tried to engage Boba, the bounty hunter  disintegrated them using a weapon accelerator, which angered Darth Vader who refused to pay Boba the bounty as there were no bodies.

On Tatooine

Boba Fett was seen with Jabba in Docking Bay 94, where the Hutt confronted Han Solo. Later, he investigated the trail of R2-D2 and C-3PO after he learned Darth Vader had a bounty on the droids. He eventually traced the droids' trail to the Lars Homestead, which had been ransacked by Stormtroopers. Fett figured out there had been three inhabitants in the homestead, and two of them were dead. Fett anticipated that the third one had most likely run off with the two droids.

Hunting down Luke

Boba Fett attacks Luke Skywalker

Boba Fett traps Luke Skywalker.

Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Darth Vader tasked Boba with hunting down Luke Skywalker. Fett traveled to Tatooine, where he first questioned a group of Rodians, then killed them after they proved useless, and went in search of others who might know anything useful about Luke. He came across a group of Jawas that he also killed, then a family of moisture farmers that he interrogated, before murdering them as well. All leads proved fruitless. Fett went to Chalmun's Cantina, for more questioning. After Fett threatened an Ithorian, a six-armed alien in the back of the room spoke up and mocked that the only boy he saw, was Boba. The alien approached. Boba quickly overpowered the alien, removing one of its arms and breaking three others, in order to intimidate the patrons into answering his questions. However, Wuher told the bounty hunter that no one knew the name of his target, but Ben Kenobi had come not a long time ago with some kid nobody'd seen before. At the scene, a young moisture farmer tried to run out of the cantina, but Boba subdued him with a rope. Boba Fett tortured hims so badly that the farmer screamed out the name of Fett's target. After that, Boba immediately killed the farmer, and proceeded to track down Luke. In Ben Kenobi's home, Fett and Skywalker dueled, with Fett hoping to capture the Jedi. However, he failed, and Luke was able to escape. Fett returned to an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, and met with Vader. Fett informed the Sith Lord that he lost Skywalker, but was able to get his name. After that, Vader remained silent for some time, and Fett decided that the business was over, so he left. Unknown to Boba, he had just told the Dark Lord that he had a son.

Capturing Han Solo

Executor bounty hunters

Boba Fett and other bounty hunters meet with Darth Vader.

Vader tasked several bounty hunters, including Boba Fett, to capture the Millennium Falcon, Boba was the only hunter to figure out how the Millennium Falcon eluded Imperial pursuit by hiding among garbage and tracked the ship to Cloud City on Bespin.

In his pursuit, he followed the Falcon to Cloud City where he informed Darth Vader of their destination. In response, Vader then sent a detachment of stormtroopers to infiltrate the city. Fett was followed by IG-88, who Fett easily subdued. When Vader arrived, he forced the city's leader, Lando Calrissian, into a twisted agreement that left him no other choice but to betray Solo and his friends, including selling him out to Fett. After the capture of Solo and his companions, Lord Vader used Solo as a test subject for carbon-freezing—which, if successful, he hoped to use on Luke Skywalker in order to transport him to Emperor Palpatine. Solo survived the process, and Vader gave him to Fett to be taken to Jabba Desilijic Tiure.

Battle on Tatooine

Jabba and Fett watch Luke battle the rancor

When Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Luke Skywalker attempted to rescue the frozen Solo from Jabba's palace, they were captured, with Jabba finding different ways to dispose of each of the erstwhile heroes. When Leia unfroze Solo, she was to be Jabba's slave girl.

Fett then watched with Jabba as Luke battled the vicious rancor, Pateesa. When Luke killed the monster, an outraged Jabba sentenced Luke, Han, and Chewbacca to be cast into the Great Pit of Carkoon where the ghastly Sarlacc lived. After they arrived, Luke tried to threaten Jabba to free him and his friends or die, but failed. Luke staged his own rescue and Fett attempted to stop him along with several of Jabba's hapless guards.

Solo inadvertently knocks Boba into the sarlacc pit

During the fight, Luke was able to destroy Fett's blaster using his lightsaber. In the ensuing chaos, Fett took aim at Skywalker, who was by then on another Sand Skiff, but he failed to notice Solo. Solo, still semi-blind from hibernation sickness, accidentally activated Fett's manual controls on his jetpack by waving a staff wildly behind him, rocketing the hunter against the sail barge and bouncing down to the sand, rolling directly into the waiting maw of the Sarlacc.
