The Carida incident took place during the Republic strategy conference when Separatist members plotted to destroy the Valor with very high-ranking Jedi and Republic officials aboard by sending an abandoned Venator-class Star Destroyer filled with rhydonium on a collision course with the space station. D-Squad discovered the ship above Abafar, thinking it was still under Republic control. They managed to defeat the droids on-board and R2-D2 stayed behind and manually destructed the ship before it could reach the Valor. Anakin Skywalker went straight away and found his droid, repairing him.
