Cassian Jeron Andor, born Kassa, was a Rebel Captain in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Along with Jyn Erso and a team of Rebels, he was involved in the Theft of the Death Star Plans.

Biography[]

Cassian was born on the planet Kenari around 33 BBY. During the Clone Wars he was part of an Insurrectionist cell backed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. He was in combat at a young age, throwing stones at Republic walkers and Clone Troopers.

Cassian eventually joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic and was recruited by Davits Draven. Cassian served under Draven and Airen Cracken as a Captain in the Alliance Intelligence branch. He gained the title of "Fulcrum" during his missions being the third known "Fulcrum" following Ahsoka Tano and Alexsandr Kallus. Andor reprogrammed the droid K-2SO as a rebel and the two became mission partners.

Andor was sent to the Ring of Kafrene and met Tivik who told him that the Empire had built a superweapon they were calling the "Planet Killer". He had to kill a pair of Stormtroopers and then had to execute Tivik due to his arm injury. He escaped and returned to Yavin IV.

Cassian was assigned by Mon Mothma to watch Jyn Erso as well as lead the mission to Jedha to talk with Saw Gerrera and find out what the Imperial pilot defector Bodhi Rook had to say and to ultimately find Jyn's dad Galen Erso.

On Jedha Cassian told K-2SO to stay with the ship as he and Jyn entered the holy city. They kept a low profile but ended up involved in a fight against the Stormtroopers of the city when some of Saw Gerrera's Partisans attacked the Imperials. In order to save Jyn Erso, Cassian shot one of the rebel extremists that was a bomb. Surrounded by Stormtroopers, Chirrut Îmwe and Baze Malbus assisted the pair in killing them and then the four of them were taken captive by Saw Gerrera's men.

While Jyn was talking to Saw at the Partisan base, Cassian unlocked the cell they were in and also rescued the former Imperial pilot Bodhi Rook and then found Jyn as the Death Star fired upon the nearby city. K-2SO picked them all up in the U-wing and they managed to escape the explosion by entering hyperspace from within the atmopshere.

Bodhi led the group to Eadu where Cassian told everyone else to wait on the ship, having recieved orders to terminate Galen Erso. Cassian found a snipers position and aimed at Galen who was in clear shot range until Director Orson Krennic arrived. Jyn snuck aboard the platform and Cassian was forced to abort his mission as rebel starfighters arrived and bombed the facility. The attack killed Galen Erso and the group escaped in the aftermath of the battle.

They returned to Yavin IV and when the rebels wouldn't approve an attack on the Scarif Citadel to get the plans for the Death Star, Cassian decided to lead an unauthorised mission there. Upon reaching the base, Cassian and Jyn disguised as Imperials and infiltrated the vault. Admiral Raddus arrived to fight the Imperial fleet above and Jyn and Cassian managed to beam the plans for the Death Star up to his command ship where they were given to the Alderaan rebels aboard Tantive IV which was docked to the massive Mon Calamari ship when Darth Vader boarded with his Stormtroopers. Cassian and Jyn were killed when Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin ordered the Death Star to fire upon the Scarif base.
