Daultay Dofine was a Neimoidian captain in the Trade Federation and an aide to Nute Gunray. He was a member of the Dofine family and a relative of Lushros Dofine. He feared Gunray less than he feared the Federation's secret ally, Darth Sidious. He, his colleague Rune Haako and his master Viceroy Gunray secretly conspired with Sidious to reinforce their own goal: to control all the commerce and eliminate those that opposed them. In return for helping them in the Kellux system with his Sith apprentice Darth Maul, Sidious demanded that the trio not only blockade Naboo for not paying the Federation their taxes, but also occupy the planet, thus starting the Invasion of Naboo. At Gunray's orders, Dofine remained aboard the Saak'ak (Gunray's flagship) and continue the blockade while he and Haako travelled to Naboo's surface. Later, Dfoine and his crew were sent to the Vuutun Palaa in order to activate the Federation's Droid Army on the plains of Naboo where the local Gungans fought off the Federation. However, young Anakin Skywalker managed to get into a small Nubian craft and destroyed it's power core and shield generators, making the ship explode from the inside, killing Dofine and ending the Federation's invasion.
