The Devastator was the last Imperial I-class Star Destroyer to be created on Kuat as the Galactic Empire started mass-producing the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, becoming the personal flagship of the Commander-in-Chief Darth Vader. It was part of the Battle on Scarif, arriving late battle and it came out of hyperspace, turbolasers firing, destroying a Nebulon-B frigate and a transport as it attempted to disable the rebel flagship carrying the Death Star schematics. This was the Star Destroyer Lord Vader used to pursue Princess Leia and the Death Star plans. It continued be the flagship of the Emperor's Fist until it was replaced by the Executor, though the Devastator remained a key component of his flotilla, Death Squadron, and took part in the Battle of Endor where it was destroyed.
