The Duel in Palpatine's office was a duel between Darth Sidious and a group of Jedi Masters who arrived in his office to arrest him. Mace Windu led the assault and was the only one to survive the onslaught from Sidious's lightsaber, continuing to duel him. Anakin Skywalker arrived just as Windu got the better of and cornered the Sith Lord. Anakin had to make a choice between Palpatine and Windu since Palpatine had told Anakin that he was the only one who could save his wife. When Windu went in for the final blow Anakin chopped his hand off and Sidious blasted him out the window with lightning to his death on the streets thousands of levels below.

The Duel[]

The duel starts with Darth Sidious murdering Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin. The Sith Lord then goes to duel masters Windu and Kit Fisto, the latter swiftly joining his 2 old comrades. Windu then continued to duel Palpatine, eventually reaching swift stalemate. They dueled for few more seconds then Windu kicked Palpatine in the face, knocking his lightsaber out the window. Windu held Sidious at bladepoint as Anakin came. Palpatine, accusing and betraying the Jedi and the Republic, launched force lightning at Windu in an attempt to slay him. The attempt reveals Palpatine's true form. Palpatine then feigned weakness causing Anakin to stop Windu and letting Palpatine torture then murder the Jedi Master.

Aftermath[]

Anakin felt horror at his actions yet knew he had to serve Palpatine due to said crimes. Anakin was renamed Darth Vader and sent to destroy the Jedi. Palpatine would transform the Republic into the Empire and have the Jedi slain by their own Clone troopers soon renamed Stormtroopers.
