The Emperor's Royal Guard were selected from the Red Guard to guard and serve the Galactic Empire's Emperor Darth Sidious.

History[]

Some Emperor's Royal Guards were present at the Imperial Palace on Coruscant guarding Palpatine, when the Emperor's second-in-command, Lord Vader, entered the room in order to talk to his master.

As Vader was not well-known by now and he did not wear Imperial uniform as his subordinates thought, the the Emperor's Royal Guards thought Vader was a threat and attempted to block his path with their staffs.

The Sith Lord in response force-pushed the Guards through the windows to their death. Vader would later select at least two Guards as his own and these Royal Guards were present in Vader's castle when Director Orson Krennic arrived to discuss with his master Vader about the Death Star.

Two Emperor's Royal Guards were killed aboard the Imperial luxury yacht known as the Imperialis and were killed in the ship's theft by Lando Calrissian and his assistant Lobot. Six of these guards followed Vader and Palpatine aboard their Lambda-class T-4a shuttle to Death Star II where ultimately the two would die.
