CC-7567, also known as Rex and CT-7567, was a clone trooper captain who served under Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano during the Clone Wars. He didn't execute Order 66 because he had taken out his inhibitor chip prior and helped Ahsoka Tano escape during the Siege of Mandalore. He settled down on the planet Seelos with clones Wolffe and Gregor but was pulled back into the fight by Ahsoka. He joined the rebellion against the Galactic Empire in Phoenix Squadron and then later the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Biography
Early Life
Clone Captain Rex served the Republic during the Clone Wars, often taking orders from Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. He viewed military service as an honor, and always completed his mission. He was fond of using two blaster pistols at the same time. Rex customized his armor with distinctive blue markings.
Battle of Christophsis and Teth
At the Battle of Christophsis, Rex became a mentor to Skywalker's newly assigned Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, with whom he forged a strong bond. He also managed to rebound from the following Battle of Teth, an engagement he would never forget due to the near-complete eradication of his 501st unit, Torrent Company.
Mimban
Rex fought at the Battle of Mimban.
Skirmish on Rishi Base
While on a listening post inspection tour with Clone Commander Cody, Rex rallied a small team of rookie soldiers (nicknamed Hevy, Fives, and Echo) to retake Rishi Station, which they thereafter destroyed to thwart the Confederate General Grievous's planned invasion of Kamino.
Other battles during the Clone Wars
He was later deployed on tour aboard Skywalker's flagship, the Resolute, and joined Skywalker and Tano in leading 501st offensives at Bothawui, Jan Fathal, and other flashpoints across the galaxy. Rex would take part in countless campaigns in the galactic theater of war, from the containment of the Blue Shadow Virus on Naboo and the liberation of Ryloth to other hard-won victories like the Battle of Malastare, the Second Battle of Geonosis, and the Battle of Kamino.
Siege of Mandalore and Order 66
Rex, being promoted to Commander, helped capture Maul during the Siege of Mandalore under the command of former Jedi Ahsoka Tano with about half of the 501st Legion. They teamed up with the Mandalorian Resistance to defeat Maul's Shadow Collective. After Maul was captured, Tano and Rex were transporting him back to Coruscant aboard a Venator-class Star Destroyer when Order 66 was issued. Rex briefly tried to kill Tano, but later, his Inhibitor chip was removed by Tano and some droids. He was demoted from Commander by Jesse, who was following Order 66, and subsequently helped Tano escape. Maul also escaped, because Tano released him in order to create a diversion, but not before destroying the Star Destroyer's reactor and hyperdrive. The ship crashed onto a moon, killing the other clones aboard. Later, Rex and Tano buried the bodies of the dead clones, using the fallen troopers' helmets as grave markers.
Living in Exile
Many years later he and two other clones (nicknamed Gregor and Wolffe) lived in exile; having not activated Order 66. He joined the crew of the ghost after a fight with the empire and reunited with Ahsoka Tano helping Kanan Jarrus to train the boy Ezra Bridger although Jarrus didn't like him very much.
Joining The Rebellion
Rex and Kanan went on a mission together and put aside their conflict. They arrived at an Immobiliser 418 cruiser to rescue Ezra Bridger and Commander Jun Sato. Rex got captured by imperials and taken to Admiral Brom Titus who taunted the clone about where his loyalty laid. Kanan arrived and rescued him and the Rebels escaped.
A rebel leader
Rex stayed strong in Phoenix Squadron's leadership, occasionally going on missions with the Lothal Rebels such as when they went to investigate Geonosis. Rex sat in a gunner's seat and blasted TIE's and AT-DP walkers when they fell into the Empire's trap.
Setting up an rebel base on Attolon
Rex was present when the rebels formed their new base on Attolon. He went with Sabine to investigate the disappearance of a Rebel Pilot and was taken away by Krykna spiders. The Lothal Rebels worked together to rescue him from the creature's clutches and Rex helped them hold off the Ghost so they could take off.
Last Contact with Ahsoka
Rex was still on the base when Ahsoka, Ezra and Kanan left to investigate Malachor. He contacted Ahsoka immediately after finding out and tried to insist on coming with them. Ahsoka told Rex she wasn't alone. Later when Ezra and Kanan returned without Ahsoka, Rex was saddened, believing her to be dead.
Stealing Y-wings
Two years after the possible death of Ahsoka Tano, Rex would aid The rebellion in a mission to steal a small fighter squad of Y-wing bombers for the purpose of aiding General Jan Dodonna's rebel cell. The mission would be a success. Rex and the rebels escaped the Imperial facility, Reklam Station, with their Y-wings and returned to base.
Mission to Agamar
After sometime of working with The rebellion, Rex, Kanan, Zeb, and Ezra would be sent to the planet Agamar to salvage equipment from an seemingly abandoned Separatist ship, only for the rebels to be attacked by some still active battle droids under the command of Super tactical droid, Kalani and an B1 Battle Droid Commander, B1-268. This would later result in Rex and the rebels fighting the still active Separatists, but later joining forces with them when the Galactic Empire arrived on the planet.
The Last Battle of the Clone Wars
The following battle on Agamar would have Rex leading Kalani's battle droids into battle against the Imperial forces sent to the planet. After a short-lived battle, Rex, his Rebel allies, and a few of Kalani's Battle Droids would escape Agamar and return to the Rebel Fleet.
Evacuation of Mykapo
After his encounter with Kalani and his droids on Agamar, Rex would continue his service to The rebellion, helping the rebels evacuate the planet Mykapo before Imperial forces, under command of Grand Admiral Thrawn arrived. During this, Rex would be aboard the Ghost getting any civilians who didn't want to be under Imperial rule off world.
Maul on Attolon
Rex would later be present back on Attolon, The rebellion's main base, and would attend Hera's debreifing on the Rebel's mission to Lothal. During this time, Ezra would recive several vision regarding Maul, later discovering that the former Sith Lord was on Attolon and wanted to use Ezra to help him find Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Rescue mission on Geonosis
After Rebel High Command lost contact with Saw Gerrera's Partisan rebel group, who had gone to the planet Geonosis to investigate the planet for any surviving Geonosians, Jun Sato and Bail Organa assigned the Lothal Rebels, along with Rex, to venture to Geonosis. There they would try to find Saw and his rebels.
Encounter with Kilk-Klak
Upon arriving on the planet, Rex, Kanan, and Ezra would search for Saw's Partisans in a set of Geonosian catacombs, only to be attacked by a squad of reactivated B1 battle droids. After a breif skirmish, Rex and the other rebels would be saved by Saw, the only survivor of his Partisan group. After their skirmish with the battle droids, Rex and the other rebels began searching for the "bug" that used the droids to attack them, a Geonosian Ezra called Klik-Klak. Saw informed the rebels that he must know about whatever the Empire was trying to build over Geonosis. Following a quick chase in trying to catch the Geonosian, the rebels managed to capture Klik-Klak, upon which Saw began bruitaly interrogating the young Geonosian, which Rex managed to stop.
The last Geonosian Queen
Once the rebels captured Klik-Klak, they had the Geonosian attempt to show them what his people were building for the Empire. Klik-Klak responded by drawing a picture of the Death Star, but since the rebels didn't know what the Death Star was, Rex and others suspected he was drawing the Imperial symbol. After this, Klik-Klak showed the rebels that he was protecting a rare Geonosian Queen egg, something that the Geonosians needed in order to try and rebuild their race.
Saw attempts to betray The rebellion
With both Klik-Klak and the Geonosian Queen egg, Saw attempted to leave the rebels on Geonosis and take both Klik-Klak and the egg to his Partisan base, which the rebels attempted to stop. Rex tried calming his old friend down by telling him he wasn't in command, which onlt resulted in Saw throwing Rex over his shoulder and still attempting to escape with Klik-Klak. Ezra and Rex finally managed to get Saw to calm down, telling him by doing this, he would just be helping the Empire wipe out the Geonosian people.
Fighting the Empire on Geonosis
Shortly after this, Imperial jumptroopers under the command of Captain Brunson, attempted to attack the rebel ship, Ghost as it tried to leave the planet. Rex, Saw, and the others fought against the Jumptroopers, with Rex manning The Ghost's main turret to blast any Imperial trooper attempting to board the ship off. Eventually, the rebels defeated the jumptroopers, only to discover something terrible, several Imperial bombs filled with poisonous gas. Once the rebels discovered this, they let Klik-Klak and his egg free. they attempted to take the bombs as proof to present to the Imperial Senate that the Empire did wipe out the Geonosian race, but failed as they dropped the bombs after destroying Brunson's ship.
Later service to The rebellion
Rex served the Phoenix rebel cell during the Battle of Atollon and subsequintly joined the Massassi group. He and Commanders Wollfe and Gregor also took part in Ezra and Hera's final attack on the Lothal complex and Governor Pryce's forces.
Rex would continue to fight the Galactic Empire in the ranks of the Rebellion, aiding the crew of the Ghost in combat, and later aiding the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Battle of Endor.
Personality and Traits
Rex was a tough, loyal, no-nonsense clone trooper who shared many of the personality traits of Jango Fett, his template, but still had a few unique aspects.
He was proud of where his loyalties lay and was willing to lay down his life for the Republic. When Pong Krell was revealed a traitor, Rex knew he had to do what was right and arrested him. When they finally caught the rogue jedi, Rex could not bring himself to execute the being who had killed so many of his brothers, causing Dogma to shoot him instead. The event shows Rex's dislike of killing unarmed individuals. Although he killed Keeper Agruss who claimed to be unarmed, it could be said that the buttons on his chair were considered weapons.
Skills and Abilities
Rex had taken more training then regular clones, both that of a clone captain and some ARC training. This enhanced his skills in battle sometimes even proving him stronger than actual ARC troopers such as Colt, Blitz, Havoc, Fives and Echo. His Jedi General Anakin Skywalker strengthened his reckless side of things as well making him overall, one of the strongest clones on the battlefield.

Blasters
Main Article: Rex's twin blaster pistols
Rex didn't use the normal Blaster rifle like most Clones. Instead, he kept a pair of blaster pistols which he dual wielded.
Vehicles
AT-TE
Main Article: Modified AT-TE walker
Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor owned an old AT-TE walker after they retired to the planet of Seelos. They used it to fight against the Galactic Empire led by Agent Kallus and some prototype AT-AT walkers.

Behind the Scenes
Legends counterpart
Since Rex's history during and after Episode III hasn't been explored in Legends, it could be assumed that Rex enforced Order 66 in Star Wars Legends, but since Appo is charge of the 501st legion in that time zone, it's likely that Rex did what was done in Canon. It will never be known whether Rex was to join the Rebellion in Star Wars Legends or not.
