Hoth was an snow covered planet found in the Hoth system. It was one of the many remote planets in the galaxy, and was used as the main base of operations for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. During this time, the rebels encountered some of Hoth's few native species, mainly including the usually passive Tauntauns and the highly aggressive Wampa ice creatures. The rebels would soon evacuate Hoth when the Galactic Empire discovered their base on the planet and sent a large invasion force of Imperial Snowtroopers, modified AT-ST walkers and large AT-AT walkers, starting an major battle on the planet.
