A hyperspace pod or hyperdrive pod was an interstellar-range vessel used by the Galactic Empire.
Description[]
This transport was used to carry a Viper probe droid to its target. The pod was equipped with a hyperdrive to reach remote parts of the galaxy.
X3-13s were specialized hyperdrive pods used to deploy E-XD infiltrator droids.
History[]
At least 8 pods were carried aboard an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer.
A hyperspace pod delivered a Viper probe droid to the ice-planet of Hoth, where Luke Skywalker observed it striking the ground. As he went to investigate, Luke and his Tauntaun were assaulted by a Wampa. Meanwhile, the probe droid rose from the crater created by its pod and proceeded to document the Rebel installation.
