The Invincible was a larger model of Providence-class dreadnought commanded by Admiral Trench at the Battle of Christophsis. It had powerful weapons, like a Thermal shield.

Admiral Trench aboard the Invincible
During the Clone Wars, Admiral Trench was placed in command of a blockade consisting of Lucrehulk class battleships and Munificent-class star frigates at the resource-rich planet Christophsis, commanding from the Invincible. Since Senator Bail Organa was on Christophsis as part of an aid operation, the Galactic Republic dispatched a special unit under the command of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Admiral Wullf Yularen to break through the blockade before the separatists' ground forces would be able to conquer Organa's positions. When Skywalker's fleet began attacking the blockade, Trench had the Invincible head for the enemy flagship, the Venator-class Star Destroyer Resolute, and fire on the Star Destroyer. At the same time, he ordered the Republic supply ships to cut off the path by firing at the bow-side cannons and to separate them from their escort cruisers. To break through, Skywalker continued the attack course on the opposing command ship. Trench maintained his position and ordered the Invincible's front shields to be reinforced. Shortly afterwards, Skywalker stopped attacking, following Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi's advice and pulled the fleet behind the nearby moonback. However, Trench prohibited his tactical droid TI-99 from pursuing. Instead, he instructed the fleet to lower the shields and program the guns on a full load to prepare for the return of the Republic fleet. Meanwhile, Yularen was studying the records of the previous argument, knowing the tactics of attack and the efficiency of the droid maneuvers. Through Trench's insignia on the hull of the Invincible, he managed to identify the enemy commander. When Anakin Skywalker told him that he should bring relief supplies to the planet with a stealth ship ship provided by Kenobi, Yularen decided to accompany the Jedi Knight.

The Invicible is destroyed by her own torpedoes.
With the Republic fleet not launching another attack and pausing behind the moon, Trench decided to put more pressure on them by dispatching his command ship's Hyena bombers to bomb Organa's positions. Then Kenobi decided to attack Trench's fleet with all available ships. However, Skywalker and Yularen doubted that the attack would be successful. Therefore, Skywalker fired proton torpedoes at Trench's command ship to attract the attention of the enemy commander. Trench, who had become suspicious of the fleet's lack of attack, ordered the Invincible's thermal shields to be activated to repel the torpedoes, and then ordered to prepare to fire all of the cannons at the stealth ship. Because the torpedo was fired by the Invincible, flares were used to take out the torpedoes and the enemy ship went into stealth mode again, Trench instructed his crew to fire the laser cannons. However, the stealth ship was not hit by the shelling. Trench, after some thinking, then concluded that the ship was being piloted by a Jedi. He sent a message to his opponent over an open frequency of the com channel, stating that he had experience in fighting ships with camouflage technology and asked his opponent to withdraw. He wanted to provoke another attack that would allow him to capture the magnetic signature of the stealth ship and destroy it with tracking torpedo. When Skywalker deactivated the ship's stealth mode again, torpedoes fired from the ship hit the Invincible. Trench had his tactical droid lock onto the stealth ship's magnetic signature and prepare the positioning torpedoes. Though TI-99 warned him that the ship could not fire without lowering its shields, Trench ordered the torpedoes to fire. Skywalker then turned off stealth mode to transfer all the energy to the machines and headed for the Invincible bridge. Since the shields were still recharging, the shields were unable to be raised, and the locating torpedoes hit the command ship unhindered as the stealth ship scraped past the destroyer's bridge, causing an explosion of the command bridge that spread to the rest of the ship, destroying the Invincible. Obi-Wan Kenobi was then able to start attacking the remaining ships in the blockade.
Legacy[]
Parts of the wreck that had not been destroyed by the explosion were recovered from scrap collectors and resold on the open market. Since the Separatists 'ships were made up of modules, undamaged elements of the Invincible, as well as parts from other Destroyers and Separatists' frigates such as the Lucid Voice, could be built into the scaled-down variant of a Providence-class dreadnought used by the rebel cell of the former Republic Intelligence Officer Berch Teller. This ship went to the Imperial Sentinel base, but escaped to hyperspace when Moff Wilhuff Tarkin recognized his opponent's strategy and staged an ambush with the star destroyer Electrum. The technicians identified some parts of the wreck that the Sentinel Base crew could recover and examine in the maintenance hangar as remains of the Invincible. When a member of the maintenance team told him, Tarkin was amazed to know that Trench's command ship had been destroyed in the Battle of Christophsis. However, the technician explained to him that the modular construction of the separatist ships allowed parts of the Invincible to be used later.
