Kraken was a Super Tactical Droid that was second-in-command to Admiral Trench during the battle for the station above Ringo Vinda. After the Admiral caught the Clone Trooper Tup, who for an unknown reason killed his Jedi superior, he sent a crew of battle droids led by Kraken aboard a Maxillipede Shuttle. En route to Serenno, the shuttle was attacked by a team of Republic forces led by Jedi Knight and commander Anakin Skywalker.

While he remained in the cockpit with the two droid pilots, Kraken sent a small squad of BX-series droid commandos to eliminate the threat. When he attempted to shoot the enemy, Skywalker arrived and cut off Kraken's arms, before asking where Tup was. Skywalker then decapitated the tactical droid. Kraken was later rebuilt and served under Separatist Head of State Count Dooku. He led the Separatist fleet in th battle involving the planet of Scipio. Kraken some time later informed the Count that his master, Darth Sidious,wanted to speak with him on Coruscant.
