Lok Durd was a Neimoidian commander who fought for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. He designed a new superweapon for the Confederacy that he called a Defoliator Deployment Tank, or DDT. Lok later attempted to test its power by invading the planet Maridun and trying to use the tank to destroy a village of native Lurmen. Lok's plan, however, was foiled when a group of Republic members crash landed on the planet and helped the Lurmen set up a defence against Durd's battle droids. After the battle's end, Durd was arrested by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and the DDT was destroyed.
While in custody of the Republic, Durd, along with Nuvo Vindi were part of Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic's original plans for a prisoner exchange with the Separatists to secure the release of Galen Erso, Lyra Erso, and the baby Jyn Erso from imprisonment on Vallt.
However, Durd eventually managed to escape custody and went on to cause havoc beyond the Western Reaches.
