Lothal resistance

The Lothal resistance was a rebel cell led by Ryder Azadi organized during the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire. It was made up of civilians on the planet Lothal that wanted to rebel against the Empire following the rebellious acts organized by the Lothal Rebels. The resistance was backed by The rebellion and occasionally gained supplies from them. The leader of the Lothal Resistance, Ryder Azadi, would keep in contact with The rebellion from time to time, most notably right before the Battle of Atollon.

History[]

The resistance was created when Ryder Azadi, the former Lothal governor, escaped prison and gathered rebellious Lothal citizens including Jho and the Sumars to create the cell. When the Phoenix Rebel Cell found out about a weapon being manufactured on Lothal. So they sent Jedi knight Kanan Jarrus, his apprentice Ezra Bridger and their droid Chopper to go undercover along with Morad Sumar a member of the cell. Once they where inside Grand Admiral Thrawn began to get suspicious about the defective vehicles. He forced Morad to try out a vehicle he inspected which blew up killing him. But even though Morad died they managed to get the plans with help from fulcrum who was revealed to be Agent Kallus. Meanwhile, the cell attacked the front gate allowing Kanan, Ezra and Chopper to escape. Back at the base, they transmitted the plans to Phoenix sqaudron who decrypted them and revealed them to the plans for a new starfighter with deflector shields.

They listened to Mon Mothama's calling. They also planned to attack TIE Defender factories on Lothal with other rebel cells.

After the battle of Atollon the main rebellion lost contact with them until Ryder sent a message saying a new TIE fighter was being developed. 2 days later they sent a team down to find the rebel cell. First they looked at Jho's but it was now full of stormtroopers. They spoke to the owner and found out Jho had been killed and there speeders had been stolen. They try leave but are stopped by stormtroopers because they didn't pay but they didn't have any credits so Ezra's old friend Jai Kell paid for them. Then the rest of the team showed up in a stolen speeder but it was destroyed. They ran and managed to escape into the sewers where there found Ryder who took them to his base. The next day they sent Ryder, Sabine, Ezra and Zeb to do recon. Just before they where about to leave Sabine wanted to find out more so her and Ezra snuck inside the base. Ezra stayed on watch while sabine went inside but Thrawn showed up so she stole the TIE Defender and they escaped and returned to the resistance base but the TIE was destroyed.

Ezra and Sabine rode back on a Loth Wolf to the resistance base. They brought back the information and told the other rebels where they left the hyperdrive they took from the defender. Ezra and a team of rebels went to retrieve the hyperdrive. They succeeded but not before the imperials but a tracker on the hyperdrive. Most of the rebels where evacuated but some stayed to fight. Hera escaped with the information and gave it to rebel command. The rebels who stayed escaped by following 3 Loth Wolves. As TIE Bombers bombed the mountains they where transported by the Loth wolves to Ezra's old house.

The surviving rebels set up base in a cave. The rebels couldn't transmit information to the rebel command because the empire had blocked all transmissions. Sabine picked up a signal nearby so a squad of rebels went to investigate. They found out it was an ore crawler with a long range transmitter so they decided to infiltrate the ship. Once inside they captured Sneevor one of the pilots of the ship and locked him in a cupboard. They picked a transmission from the other ship and sent Kanan and Zeb to investigate. They found a group of 5 slaves lead by Vizago. While trying to get information out of the slaves the foreman of the ship Proach attacked Kanan and Zeb. He quickly took out Kanan but Zeb managed to get him outside. After a brief fight Zeb and Proach fell and where hanging on to the boardwalks. Proach fell but Kanan saved Zeb. Zeb, Kanan and the slaves went back to Sabine and Ezra. They noticed two imperial ships. The ships asked for a clearance code but they couldn't give them it so they boarded. The rebels managed to convince them everything was fine. After the stormtroopers left Sneevor shut of the engines so Ezra went to turn them on again but Sneevor ambushed him. Ezra managed to overpower Sneevor and he kiled him. After Ezra returned to the others Sabine managed to communicate with Hera who had convinced rebel command to launch an attack on Lothal. Meanwhile Vizago and the other slaves agreed to join the resistance. Vizago agreed to command the ore crawler.

Hera Syndulla managed to convince rebel command to launch an attack on Lothal. But the attacked failed leading to the death and capture of many of the rebels who took part. After the attack the Lothal resistance came up with a plan to rescue Hera Syndulla. The plan goes well until Hera and Kanan are about to get picked up by Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren on the fuel depot fueling the tie defender project. Just as they are about to escape Governor Pryce orders the AT-ATs to fire at the fuel depot to kill the rebels. This destroys the fuel depot but before it can kill the rebels Kanan sacrifices himself to keep the others alive by holding back the explosion till they escape but he his consumed by the explosion.
