Low Altitude Assault Transports or LAATs were a model of gunship manufactured by Rothana Heavy Engineering and purchased for use by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars and later the Galactic Empire. The Alliance to Restore the Republic repurposed the Clone Wars version for their own troops during the Galactic Civil War.
Design[]
Equipped with 2 swivel laser cannons, each operated by a gunner, the gunship is built for in-atmosphere travel although later models are modified for short space flight. Republic models sport the white and red colours where as the Galactic Empire models take on the grey of other Imperial ships.
