Mace Windu was a Jedi Master from the planet Haruun Kaal. He was formerly the grand master of the Jedi Order prior to Yoda becoming Grand Master. A grim Jedi Master with an amethyst-bladed lightsaber, Windu was the champion of the Jedi Order, with little tolerance for the failings of the Senate, the arguments of politicians or the opinions of rebellious Jedi. As the Clone Wars intensified, Windu sensed the dark side of the Force at work, and knew the Jedi's enemies were plotting to destroy the Order and end its stewardship of the galaxy.
Biography[]
Prior to the Naboo crisis, Windu had achieved the rank of Jedi Master and was serving on the Jedi Council. When Qui-Gon Jinn and his padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi had returned from the planet Naboo, Windu, along with the rest of the council, were informed that negotiations with the Trade Federation had failed and that they had saved Naboo Queen Padmé Amidala before escaping the planet. Jinn also reported that while he was on the planet Tatooine, he had encountered a Zabrak wielding a red lightsaber on the outskirts of Mos Espa. Jinn claimed that his attacker was a Sith Lord. Windu's fellow council member, Ki-Adi-Mundi voiced his skepticism on that the fact that the Sith had been extinct for a millennium. Windu also pointed out that if the Sith did return, they could not do so without the Jedi Order being aware of it.
Master Windu who led two hundred plus Jedi into combat at the Battle of Geonosis and slayed the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett which lead to his clone son, Boba Fett's hatred of him.
Mace Windu was given the rank of General during the Clone Wars as he often on the frontlines of fierce fighting, where he led Republic forces as a High Jedi General. He would distinguish himself across many battlefronts.Sidious and Windu engage in combat

Windu During Sidious/Palpatine electrocuting him
In the final days of the war, Windu and three other Jedi confronted Palpatine. The three other Jedi, including Kit Fisto and Saesee Tiin were all slain by Sidious, leaving only Windu to duel the Sith lord. Windu defeated Darth Sidious in a difficult duel, after being informed by Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker that Sidious and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine were the same person. As Skywalker rushed to the scene, Palpatine lay disarmed on the edge of the window in his office with Windu holding his lightsaber on Palpatine. Palpatine then began to claim to Anakin that the Jedi had taken over and rebelled against him, but was in reality trying to sway Skywalker to the dark side and make him his new apprentice. Windu was ultimately betrayed by Skywalker and subsequently killed by Sidious, falling to his death from the window of Sidious's office. His failed efforts to destroy the Sith lead Sidious to execute Order 66 and betray Nute Gunray.
