Order 66 was an order that was ordered by Darth Sidious to all of the Clone Commanders around the galaxy. During the event, all of the Clone Troopers turned on their Jedi Generals and killed most of them, the main known survivors being Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kanan Jarrus.

Prelude Edit

Every Clone Trooper was implanted with an organic, but foreign, tumor. The genetic code in this tumor would program every clone to turn on the Jedi upon activation, but the tumor was incredibly hard to find. Removal of this tumor caused one clone to quickly die afterwards and another to suffer weak spells until he died of separate causes. It was revealed that the Kaminoans knowingly implanted this tumor on new clones in production under the guidance of Dooku and Darth Sidious, who was in fact Sheev Palpatine.

Order 66 was prematurely activated with trooper Tup, leading him to kill General Tiplar.

During the Battle of Ringo Vinda, Tup entered a trance-like state, and killed General Tiplar. After this, Fives tried to investigate this for himself, but ultimately found himself on the run, and even tried to kill Chancellor Palpatine, when the Chancellor revealed the truth behind the tumor.  Despite knowing the truth, Fives was unable to tell Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex, who were with him in the end, about the conspiracy or the Supreme Chancellor's involvement before being killed. The Jedi Order accepted the story that it was a virus that caused Tup and Fives' behavior. Later, Kix tried to investigate it for himself, but was ultimately captured by the Separatist Alliance and placed aboard the Obrexta III. The ship eventually crash-landed on Ponemah.

Execution of Order 66 Edit

The war carried on, and Palpatine prepared to launch Order 66 into action. His identity was eventually discovered, and a team of Jedi tried to arrest the Sith. However, with the aid of Anakin Skywalker, Sidious bested the Jedi, killing them all.

Aayla Secura was among the Jedi betrayed by their clone commanders.

Palpatine used the duel as a pretext to declare the Jedi as traitors to the Galactic Republic. He issued Order 66 to various Clone Trooper commanders across the galaxy, beginning with CC-2224. At the same time, Skywalker, now Darth Vader, led the 501st Legion to massacre the Jedi Temple. As a result, thousands of Jedi were killed across the galaxy on different worlds, including Ki-Adi-Mundi on Mygeeto, Plo Koon in skies over Cato Neimoidia, and Aayla Secura on Felucia. Younglings were slaughtered as well.

Aftermath Edit

The enactment of Protocol 66 ensured the Jedi Order's destruction. Therefore, the Galactic Republic transformed into the Galactic Empire.

Kanan Zeb and Sabine

Kanan Jarrus would eventually become a remarkable figure in the fight against the Galactic Empire.

Only a few Jedi survived the onslaught of Order 66. During the Empire's subjugation of Mon Cala, Jedi Ferren Barr was able to hide in Dac City, posing as an advisor to Lee-Char. Barr would be confronted by several of the Inquisitors and their Troopers, who he noticed were clones who never had their inhibitor chips activated. Barr then mind-tricked the troopers into executing Order 66. The troopers attacked the Inquisitors, because they were former Jedi. The Tenth Brother, who was formerly Prosset Dibs, was killed in the firefight that followed. On Mandalore, former Padawan Ahsoka Tano and Clone Trooper captain CT-7567, who had removed his control chip prior to the event, faked their deaths and went into hiding separately. They would never meet again until the early rebellion against the Empire. Padawan Caleb Dume's master, Depa Billaba, was killed by Commander Grey, and the clone troops pursued Dume. On Lahn, Grey began to see the truth, realizing that something had taken their free will during Order 66, and sacrificed himself to save Dume from the clone forces trying to kill him. Dume renamed himself Kanan Jarrus, and eventually got work with Hera Syndulla. The two worked together on many occasions, and eventually formed the Spectres, a rebel cell based on Lothal.
