Pedrin Gaul was a male human and a cadet pilot in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He served as Red Five during the Battle of Scarif and was killed.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story quite obviously deliberately showed Gaul's death to show that the space of Red Five was empty for Luke Skywalker to fill in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
