The Pelta-class frigate, also known as the Republic medical frigate, was a frigate model used by the Galactic Republic. There were two modified variants used by the fleet of the Alliance to Restore the Republic the Pelta-class assault ship and the Pelta-class command ship
History[]
The Pelta-class was manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards and served the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. These ships were mainly used to ferry injured soldiers to treatment centers.
During the Galactic Empire, one Pelta-class frigate was refitted by the Rebel network as a starfighter carrier and command ship. This ship, the Phoenix Home, was destroyed in battle with Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1.
