Rute Gunnay was a male Neimoidian who served as aide and advisor to Nute Gunray and Rune Haako.
General Grievous sent the Separatist Council to Mustafar under the orders of Darth Sidious. Gunnay went to the lava planet with Gunray, Haako and some other Trade Federation members.
Sidious contacted the Council and said that his new apprentice, Darth Vader would arrive to look after them. On Vader's arrival, the Council greeted him but he proceeded to kill the Council. Gunnay was struck down along with Gunray, Wat Tambor, Poggle the Lesser and Haako.
