Shadow Squadron was a well-known starfighter squadron of Republic Y-wing bombers that was active during the Clone Wars.
History[]
Sometime after the Battle of Geonosis, Shadow Squadron gained a reputation in the Republic Navy for having maximum efficiency and minimal casualties. Because of this reputation, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker decided to hand pick Shadow Squadron to perform an assault against the Separatist superweapon, the Malevolence. During this mission, Shadow Squadron would lose two of its top pilots, Matchstick and Tag, but despite this, with the aid of the Jedi, Shadow Squadron would destroy the Malevolence and go on to fight in other battles of the Clone Wars, including the Battle of Kamino.
