Sio Bibble was the last governor of Naboo during the Republic and the first governor of Naboo during the Empire. He was chairman of the Naboo Royal Advisory Council.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Sio Bibble was born on Naboo prior to the Invasion of Naboo. He was elected as the Governor of Naboo during King Veruna's reign. Bibble served Veruna until his terms were up. Bibble served Veruna until his terms were up and he was succeeded by Queen Amidala, whom Bibble served after. During Queen Amidala's coronation, he closed the Palace Plaza. In 32 BBY, he was listening to a hologram of Senator Palpatine of Naboo when Naboo lost power. Bibble was one of the first people to predict that there will be an invasion.
The Invasion of Naboo[]
Bibble's suspicions was proved correct when the Trade Federation invaded Naboo shortly after due to taxation of trade routes. Bibble was arrested along with the other people on Naboo. Bibble questioned Viceroy Nute Gunray how they will explain this to the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic but the Viceroy lied that they already had the approval of the Senate.
Soon, Jedi Master Qui Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi Wan Kenobi came to rescue them. Bibble hoped that Senator Palpatine might be able to rescue them. He decided to stay on Naboo to represent and protect his people against the Trade Federation.
Gunray enjoyed taunting Bibble, saying that he'd start killing the Naboo one by one and Bibble would be first. Bibble would retort that the people have decided that they were a democracy. Gunray then ordered the Separatist droids to take Bibble away. They did.
Soon, Naboo was freed by Queen Amidala. Bibble was present when she told Gunray that he'd have to go to the Senate to explain why they did this. He later attended Jinn's funeral, who was killed by Darth Maul during the Battle that liberated Naboo. Then, he attended the celebration that celebrates the Naboo's victory over the Trade Federation.
The Separatist Crisis[]
Some time later, Queen Amidala was succeeded by Queen Jamillia, whom Bibble also served. Jamillia told Amidala to serve as Senator of Naboo. In 22 BBY, many people tried to kill Amidala and she had to hide on Naboo. Bibble was present at a Council meeting about how the Separatist Crisis could be turned into a war. Then the meeting redirected to Amidala's safety.
The Clone Wars[]
Bibble's suspicions proved correct when the Clone Wars started. Queen Jamillia was succeeded by Queen Neeyutnee. Bibble served Queen Neeyutnee as well.
Skirmish on Theed[]
In 20 BBY, Bibble greeted Palpatine back to Naboo. Then, they both attended the Festival of Light. During the festival, bounty hunters tried to kill Palpatine, but were thwarted by Kenobi (disguised as bounty hunter, Rako Hardeen). The next morning, Bibble was put in a safety group consisting of Senator Amidala and Queen Neeyutnee.
Mission to Bardotta[]
In 19 BBY, Bibble and Gregor Typho went with Senator Amidala to the Senate on Coruscant. During the Senate meeting, Queen Julia of Bardotta contacted the Senate. Palpatine was about to say the people he chose to go to Bardotta: Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan and Senator Padme Amidala of Naboo. However, Julia specifically requested Junior Representative Jar Jar Binks of Naboo, puzzling everyone.
During the last days of the Republic, Queen Neeyutnee was succeeded by Queen Apailana, whom Bibble served also.
Imperial Era[]
Soon after, Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker (Amidala's secret husband), had dreams of Amidala dying in childbirth. Soon, Palpatine (secretly the sith Darth Sidious), seduced Skywalker to the Dark Side of the Force by telling him that he had the power to save Amidala and made him a Sith also. Palpatine turned the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire, he Galactic Senate into the Imperial Senate and killed most of the Jedi. When Amidala learned of this, she begged Anakin to come back to the Light Side, only to be strangled by Skywalker. Amidala died of a broken heart and Bibble attended her funeral. At some point after this, he stepped down from his place as Governor and was replaced.
