The TIE?/IN interceptor or the TIE Interceptor was an elite model of TIE Fighter.
History[]
Interceptors were manufactured for the Galactic Empire when other TIE Prototypes like the TIE Advanced x1 were found too expensive to mass-produce. An early known instance of an Interceptor in use was one piloted by the Second Sister.
At the time of the Battle of Endor, Interceptors and other newer TIE models made up 20 % of the entire starfighter fleet of the Empire. Following the Empire's defeat there, Interceptors continued to be used by the scattered forces of the remaining Empire.
Thirty years after the Empire's defeat at the Battle of Jakku, a red-colored Interceptor was employed by First Order Major Elrik Vonreg.
