The TIE/sh VIP shuttle, also known as the TIE Command Shuttle, was a type of Shuttle used by Imperial Officers of the Galactic Empire.
Description[]
The TIE/sh VIP very closely resembled a TIE bomber, but had solar panels that bent outwards and was created to ferry Imperial officers rather than a payload.
History[]
The Star Destroyer Avenger carried at least one of these shuttles. Following the Battle of Hoth, the Avenger's captain, Lorth Needa, wished to apologize personally to Darth Vader for losing track of the Millennium Falcon. He used a shuttle of this type to travel to the Executor, Vader's personal flagship.

Behind the scenes[]

ILM's physical TIE Shuttle model and the storyboard version.
Needa's TIE Shuttle is depicted in storyboards as having solar panels that bend outwards, the opposite of the TIE Bomber model used in the same film. Although difficult to see on-screen, the physical model that was filmed, shares this unique feature with the concept art.
