Description[]
The Theta-class was a boxy transport that could carry vehicles as heavy as an AT-AT walker. It had a similar shape to the Y-85 Titan dropship, but was significantly smaller. To aid in flight, the Theta had two maneuvering thrusters, one on each side of the main fuselage.
History[]
The Theta-class was used to ferry war vehicles from manufacturing plants to Imperial army units for deployment. It was also used onboard Star Destroyers to carry single walkers down to a target. Larger ships, like the Executor, used the Y-85 Titan dropship or the Gozanti-class Cruiser instead. During the Battle of Hoth, barges of this kind were used to carry some of the ground units down to Hoth, beyond the Rebels's energy shield.
