The Imperial transport was a type of spaceship used by the Galactic Empire to bring materials to the Death Star II construction project.
History[]
Convoys of these vessels travelled to and from the Death Star II to provide it with additional building materials during its construction.
Behind the scenes[]
Though described in the script, the Imperial transport ships were only seen as indistinct shapes in a couple of shots in the finished film. They were inserted into several transition scenes next to the upper right of the Death Star II prop model.
