Biography[]
Early Life[]
Wedge Antilles was born on the planet Corellia sometime after the formation of the Galactic Empire and quickly became an expert mechanic and eventual pilot.
Enlistment into the Empire[]
During his time on his homeworld Corellia, Wedge joined the Imperial Skystrike Academy to become an T.I.E. Fighter Pilot in the Imperial Navy. He trained for years at the academy, increasing his skills as a pilot, and even got his own personal T.I.E. Fighter.
Learning of the Empire's villany[]
Around sometime during his training at the Skystrike Academy, Wedge's family was attacked by Imperial Stormtroopers, and event that Wedge would later learn about and cause him to question his loyalty to the Empire.
Escaping the Empire[]

Wedge, during his time as an Imperial pilot
Agent Kallus told the rebels that there were cadets at Skystrike Academy who wished to defect to the Empire. Wedge and two other pilots, Rake and Hobbie, training to become TIE Pilots were approched by rebel agent Sabine Wren, who recruited Wedge and the two other pilots. Rake died in the attempt to escape but the other two including Wedge escaped with Sabine and joined the rebellion.
Galactic Civil War[]
During the Galactic Civil War, while Antilles was stationed at the Rebel base on Yavin IV, the Rebel Alliance stole the plans of the Death Star, an Imperial battle station capable of destroying entire planets. With the plans brought to the base by Princess Leia Organa and her companions on the Millennium Falcon, Antilles was tasked to oversee a simulation test for their new recruit, Luke Skywalker. He explained the test to the newcomer, and noting that Skywalker had lasted over 30 seconds on his first try, Antilles advised him to listen, and encouraged not to give up.
Battle of Yavin[]
A member of Red Squadron, Antilles flew a T-65B X-wing starfighter under the call sign Red Two when the Alliance launched the Battle of Yavin. With only fifteen minutes to spare, Antilles destroyed a number of enemy targets but, in the process, lost his friend Porkins to enemy fire. When Skywalker was unable to shake a TIE/LN starfighter that pursued him, Antilles destroyed the TIE fighter and saved the rookie pilot. Later, when Wedge, Luke and Biggs Darklighter made a trench run on the Death Star, the Sith Lord, Darth Vader attempted to stop the rebels, destroying Bigg's X-wing, scarring Wedge away from the battle. Following this, Wedge would watch the Death Star's destruction from a distance inside his X-wing.
